  • GIVE THE GIFT OF DEMENTIA PREVENTION

We now know about the risks of dementia can be reduced and therefore how it can be prevented or delayed.  Many of the steps that need to be taken will also reduce the risk of other conditions in part because one of the two most common causes of dementia – vascular dementia, is as its name suggest a disease of the blood vessels.  Therefore the measures we propose and suggest are those that also reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease.
These are being packaged in a set of short videos or apps or whatever you want to call them because the language of the internet is changing all the time.  By this we mean that these would be information and advice presented in about five to seven minutes with text and diagrams and short videos.
You might want to learn from these yourself or give them to someone as a token of your love and respect, because you love them, you want them to reduce their risk of dementia and because you respect them. You know that they will take the offer seriously and accept that what people do for themselves is at present as important as what the medical profession can do to reduce your risk of dementia or alzehimer’s disease.
Because people are already spending too much time looking at computer screens, and this is one of the causes of the modern epidemics of diseases of the heart and brain,  we will also make these available as podcasts so that you can listen to them while walking, gardening or on the cross-trainer or even just standing up drying the dishes.
The central theme is positive namely whatever your age and no matter how many long term problems you have you can increase your brainability.

    There are three key measures
  • Protect the brain tissue
  • Keep the blood supply to the brain flowing
  • Stay engaged with other people
